Museum admission is free. Walk-up tickets are now available on the door, but to guarantee entry at busy times, and to avoid waiting, booking tickets in advance is recommended. Booking is essential for our major exhibitions.

Entry to the Museum is free but pre-booking is required for groups and for our ticketed exhibitions.

There are no longer any special recommendations for social distancing.

We maintain regular cleaning regimes and there are sanitisation points throughout the Museum.

England Gallery closed 8 & 9 May 2024
The England 400–1600 Gallery (Gallery 41) will be closed all day for maintenance on Wed 8 and Thu 9 May 2024.
We apologise for any inconvenience this causes.
From Fri 10 May the Ashmolean will display The Wilton Diptych in this Gallery. Find out more about the display
